Schiaparelli Vintage Rhinestone Earrings

Pure Old Hollywood Glamor! These Schiaparelli statement-making dangle earrings have not lost one bit of their sparkle. Truly magnificent. Circa early 1950's.

Elsa Schiaparelli, Italian fashion designer considered Coco Chanel's foremost rival, produced a line of extraordinary jewelry between the 1940's and 1950's to enhance her designs. In her eventful and glamorous life, Elsa worked with Salvador Dali, married a count, designed Zsa Zsa Gabor's costumes for Moulin Rouge (1952) and even dressed Wallis Simpson (fashionista future wife of Edward III). Schiaparelli jewelry is considered one of the most distinctive and high-caliber costume jewelry ever made.

All the stones in these dramatic dangle clip-back earrings are intact. The metal is clean and shiny, possibly rhodium. Measurements: 1.5 inches long by 1 inch wide. One earring is signed Schiaparelli in script dating the pair to between 1949-1954. Condition is excellent.
